Our Events

Throughout the year, the Regina Horticultural Society is pleased to offer a variety of gardening and horticultural related events.   These events include monthly educational events, workshops, our annual fundraising Plant Sale, and our annual Garden Festival.

RHS educational events are the last Thursday of every month and are held at the St. Paul’s Anglican Cathedral, 1859 McIntyre Street.

All RHS meetings are open to the public. Non-members pay a $5 admission fee; member admission is free. Refreshments are served after all meetings. Everyone is welcome to attend!

Other Local Events

RHS may also include other gardening or horticultural events that the Society feels may be beneficial to its members such as those held by other gardening associations or clubs, or local universities or libraries. If your organization has events that may be of interest to our members, please contact us.

Event Details

Facilitated by Jackie Bantle, Plant Sciences U of S.

Have you ever wondered when is the best time to prune your dogwood or ninebark shrub?  Are you curious as to whether there is an ideal time or method to fertilize and prune your haskap or cherry bush to get the best quality fruit?  Shrubs and bushes, both ornamental and fruiting, are managed differently depending on the species, function and end use.  This presentation will focus on tips and techniques for maintaining common and some not so common shrubs and bushes in your back yard.  Cultivar choices, planting techniques, fertility and water management as well as routine maintenance will be some of the topics covered by this presentation.
