Each presentation will have an educational component as well as a hands-on project. Participants will chose a total of 4 topics (2 morning and two afternoon). We will try to do our best to accommodate you, but classes will be filled on a first come/first served basis. Register early for best choice.

A. CLEMATIS & OTHER CLIMBING VINES BY DOUG BRADFORD. Learn about beautiful clematis, their types, pruning,planting, and care. He will also cover other annualand perennial climbing varieties and where to use them. PROJECT: Wooden trellis
B. EXTENDING THE SEASON: HOOP HOUSES AND COLD FRAMES BY STEVE FAIRBAIRN. Do you want to learn moreabout hoop houses; their function and how theycould best work for you? Have you had troubles with your coldframes, or want to find out if they are a good option in your circumstances? In this class, you will learn the pros and cons of these two growing methods. PROJECT: Build some hoop houses (win by draw)
C. GARDEN DÉCOR: THE FINISHING TOUCH BY DENISE MLAZGAR. PRESENTATION: Learn how to complete the look of your garden using a variety of decor. What is your style? We will help you identify your needs: privacy from neighbors, supporting plants, how do you hide your A.C., etc. PROJECT: Welcome garden sign

D. INTRO TO PROPAGATION & GRAFTING BY SARAH WIST-REGENT (Horticulturalist). Learn about propagation methods and the theory behind them in this hands on propagating class. Participants will learn how and why vegetative propagation works, view a grafting demonstration, and practice stem and leaf cutting methods. Participants will get to take home a newly propagated houseplant. PROJECT: Grafting, dividing houseplants, and propagating succulents
E. THOSE PESKY PROBLEM PERENNIALS BY CHARLIEN BRITTON. PRESENTATION: You’ve all seen or heard nightmare tales about the Creeping Bell Flower. Well there are a few other perennials out there that can cause issues in your garden if you aren’t aware. In this class we will explore the steps you can take to make them work within your landscape, control measures to use, or if it’s best to rid yourself of it completely. PROJECT: Dividing perennials
F. TIPS & PITFALLS OF SEED STARTING BY SHEILA BONNETEAU (Master Gardener). Get a jump on the growing season, save money and take pride in growing your own transplants with pro-tips for seed starting and solutions for when things go wrong. Learn the foundations of growing healthy transplants indoors to success with garden planting. PROJECT: Transplanting various vegetables to take home
