Event Details

Our presenter, Dr. James Tansey will discuss how manage harmful bugs and how to utilize beneficial insects. He will also discuss how to deter pests without the use of harmful chemicals.

 

Dr. Tansey is the Saskatchewan Ministry of Agriculture’s Provincial Insect/Pest Management Specialist. He holds a bachelor’s degree in biology, a Master’s degree in Ecology and Environmental Biology, and a PhD in Entomology. He also completed two post-doctoral fellowships by working on insect-plant interactions and host plant resistance in canola, as well as citrus entomology. His research background includes integrated management of insects in field crops and tree crops, insecticide resistance and efficacy, the biological control of weeds and insects, and attenuating populations of urban pests like house dust mites and cockroaches.

 

Doors open at 6:30 pm.

Please come early as seating is limited.
